As Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy, Ted is formulating Australia’s next energy policy with consideration for nuclear energy.
Ted has been an advocate for nuclear energy for some years and chaired a parliamentary inquiry into the topic in the last term of government.
He has been leading attacks on the Albanese Government’s approach to climate and energy policy, arguing they will make Australia poorer, weaker and more reliant on foreign powers.
He entered parliament as the Member for Fairfax in 2016 with over 20 years of commercial experience in the private sector, in senior leadership roles across various Asia-Pacific markets. He is considered a China expert and has published and spoken widely on the topic.
In addition to chairing two parliamentary committees in the last term of government - energy & environment and trade – he led negotiations on behalf of the Australian Government as the Prime Minister’s personal representative that secured the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Ted has a Bachelor of Economics and Politics from the University of Queensland; a Scholarship in Chinese Mandarin from the National Taiwan Normal University; a Master of Business Administration (International) with 1st Class Honours from the University of Melbourne and, a Master of Economics from the London School of Economics.
