Former U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking at a campaign rally in Detroit on June 15, criticized American aid to Ukraine and claimed he would resolve the issue before taking office if elected.
At the Turning Point USA event, Trump called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “the best salesman” for securing significant financial support from the U.S., stating, “Every time he comes to our country, he walks away with $60 billion.”
President Trump previously indicated that he would withhold defense assistance to Ukraine if he won the 2024 election, also asserting that Russia would not have launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 if he had been re-elected.
